Rules & How To Play

  1. Game will be “Around The World” shooting from 13 assigned spots. Dad shoots first - gets his own rebound and passes to his child - child shoots and gets own rebound and passes to dad - must rotate shooters. A team is disqualified if they fail to take turns. No member can shoot twice in a row. The team advances to the next spot only when one member of their team hits a shot from that spot. Both feet must be out of the lane before the shot is attempted in order for the shot to count.

  2. The game begins with two competing teams starting at opposite blocks on the lane. Shots must follow this order:
For younger age groups: (1) block (2) mid block (3) elbow (4) free throw (5) opposite elbow (6) opposite mid block (7) opposite block - a team is now half way done! Now a team must hit from these spots “coming back” to the starting point  (8) opposite mid block, (9) opposite elbow, (10) free throw, (11) elbow (12) mid block and finish at the (13) block you started.
The team that sinks all 13 shots first is the winner.

For older age groups: (1) block (2) mid block (3) elbow (4) top of the key (5) opposite elbow (6) opposite mid block (7) opposite block - a team is now half way done! Now a team must hit from these spots “coming back” to the starting point  (8) opposite mid block, (9) opposite elbow, (10) top of the key, (11) elbow (12) mid block and finish at the (13) block you started.
The team that sinks all 13 shots first is the winner.

  3. At some point both teams will more than likely occupy the same spot - simply share the spot.

  4. Teams can bring their own basketball if they like - or use one supplied. Contestants can use either 28.5” (youth) or 29.5” (men) size basketballs. No 27” basketballs allowed

  5. * In the rare event there is a tie (both winning shots go through at the same time) Winners will be decided by a simple free throw contest

  6. Father / Son or Father / Daughter teams are encouraged to wear “matching” shirts (i.e. same colors, put your last names on the back...have fun!)
