Passion and patience best describe Wade Tapp’s style of coaching when working with youth. Coach Tapp grew up in the Charlotte area, and played high school basketball at Charlotte Christian School under NBA great Bobby Jones. His hard work and persistence on the court afforded him the opportunity to play basketball at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. A true student athlete, Wade was regularly named to both the dean’s list and the academic all-conference team, and he was also appointed captain during his senior season. He graduated with a degree in Natural Science and currently teaches Biology at Covenant Day School in Matthews, where he also coaches the JV boys basketball team. “I believe that the game of basketball is meant to be enjoyable, but it can also be an incredible tool for developing our kids’ character, integrity and discipline,” says Wade. “Ultimately, that is the message I hope to convey while working at Yes I Can.” Coach Tapp has been married for 2 years and has one son.
